Posting TextThe Department of Biology at the University of South Dakota is recruiting two Assistant Professor (tenure-track) positions in Integrative Biology to begin August 2027.
Opportunities for collaboration and research support include faculty with research interests that scale from molecules to landscapes, shared molecular and biochemistry lab facilities housed in the department’s newly renovated building, with upgraded research labs, teaching spaces, offices and common areas, along with proteomic, genomic and microscopy core facilities on campus. Ongoing support for integrative biology research with broadly defined biomedical implications is available within the department via the Nolop Medical Biology Endowment.
Job Duties:
Teaching may include courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, cell and molecular biology, physiology, and possible participation in team-taught introductory biology courses.
Use modern cellular, molecular, or ‘omics techniques to address questions that integrate organismal function with environmental and/or developmental influences.
Establish a productive and extramurally funded research program and actively train M.S. and Ph.D. students.
Fruitful research collaboration and mentoring of graduate students.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field is required.
