Job Description
Responsibilities*Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Rooming patients for clinic visits including patient intake.
Prep clinic exam and procedure rooms and turn over rooms between patient visits.
Restock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
Specimen procession, bench lab testing and quality control monitoring.
Immunization and medication administration.
Complex coordination with physicians, nursing, and clerical for safe and quality patient care.
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect equipment according to established protocols.
Chaperone provider and PT examinations.
Required Qualifications*
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR current enrollment in, or completion of coursework in a healthcare professional program (e.g., medical school, PA program, nursing program, or related clinical training) OR equivalent combination of education and experience (1-3 years).
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.
Desired Qualifications*
Certification as a Medical Assistant desired.
Specific skills preference: 1-3 years previous experience in assisting healthcare provider with patient care, preferably in outpatient physician office setting, ambulatory care setting.
Experience working in a high-risk OB Clinic; hands on experience with obstetrics and gynecology procedures and IUD's including female exams and Pap smears; knowledge of surgical instruments.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
Communicates effectively.
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
Competence in computer usage, telephone etiquette, participate in team and staff meetings, and follow clinic guidelines and protocols.
Must have history of excellent attendance and punctuality.
Demonstrated abilities to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks.
Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
