As aMaterial Handler, youare responsible forreplenishingsupplies,linensandother medical necessitiesto ensurecaregivers providetimely, efficient patient care.In this role, your work is vital to the overall organization and functioning of the hospital system, allowing you to indirectly improve the lives of patients,caregiversand the community every day.

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide support to the hospital supervisor on project work.

  • Collaborate with management to improve dailyactivities.

  • Support areas that care for patients with higherlevelof acuity and volume.

  • Receiveproductsfrom shipping and receiving area,unpack and inspect items for damage,verifyaccuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system.

  • Receive, sort, put away,pickand deliver supplies, mail, patientrecordsand other items as required.

  • Rotate stock and checkfor outdates.

  • Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other requiredcommunication.

  • Support Site Managers with communications with customers to fulfill areas’ stocking needs andanticipatefuture needs.

  • Deliver supplies and materials toappropriate floorsand health care facilities.

  • Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizingdeliveriesensuring the safe receipt of goods and supplies.

  • Put away freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.

  • Stockpickinglocations usingthewarehouse management system, either manually orutilizingmaterials handling equipment according toidentifyinginformation(size, style, and numbers)ensuring the safe movement of materials.

  • Perform physical count of stock for inventory control verification and rotate stock to minimize loss of materials.

  • Perform cycle counting asrequired.

  • Survey, filland stocknursing floors and clinical areas tomaintaininventory levels.

  • Deliver items using necessary equipment toappropriate hospitallocations.

  • Unload andunpackcases andstocksdesignatedstorage areas with supplies.

  • Respond to inquiries related to materials in stock, ordering procedures, status ofitem, or filled orders.

  • Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs.

  • Ensure productsmeet quality requirements.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements

  • ValidDriver’s License (VDL) to drive box truck

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • HighSchoolDiploma or GED

  • One year ofMaterialsManagement experience or related experience

  • Inventory knowledge

  • Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds and pull a 2500-pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Lifts and carries.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.00

Maximum hourly: $18.44

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
