Job Description
Job SummaryThe IT Communications & Digital Specialist plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the IT department and the rest of the organization. This position is responsible for crafting clear and effective communications about IT initiatives, ensuring CCRI’s website reflects accurate and up-to-date information regarding IT services and projects, ensuring accessibly is compliant, supporting the CIO and acting as the primary liaison between the IT and Marketing departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
IT Communications:
Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies for the IT department, including announcements, updates, and presentations.
Managing and monitoring IT social media.
Ensure the CCRI IT website and helpdesk site adheres to ADA Title II guidelines and WCAG standards. This includes working with helpdesk staff and content managers.
Liaise with relevant IT staff to integrate accessibility testing into the IT development and content creation processes to ensure that all new digital content is compliant from the outset.
Create engaging content explaining complex technical information in a clear and concise manner for non-technical audiences.
Manage internal communication channels to keep employees informed about IT news, policies, and best practices.
Collaborate with IT project teams to gather information and create communication plans for new initiatives and system changes.
Assist in the development of IT-related documentation and training materials.
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of IT communications and make recommendations for improvement.
Website Management:
Maintain and update the IT section of the company website, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information.
Collaborate with web developers and content creators to optimize the website for user experience and accessibility.
Ensure the website reflects current IT projects, services, and support resources.
Monitor website analytics and provide reports on website traffic and user engagement.
Liaison between IT and Marketing:
Serve as a point of contact between the IT and Marketing departments.
Collaborate with Marketing on the development of marketing materials related to IT products and services.
Ensure alignment between IT and Marketing messaging and branding.
Participate in marketing meetings and provide input on IT-related marketing initiatives.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between IT and Marketing teams.
Other Duties:
Assist the CIO with special projects and initiatives as needed.
