Laboratory Operations Coordinator - Clinical Laboratories (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Phlebotomy)

This position reports to the Director located in Duarte, California, overseeing contracts for Clinical Laboratories. The role involves assisting the Director in managing day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratories, implementing process improvements, and training employees as needed. Additionally, the role includes assisting technologists with assigned laboratory benchwork when required and providing technical assistance to the laboratory in their daily functions. The candidate must have the ability to shift gears and take on additional responsibilities as needed. They should be able to be a positive role model and change agent who can adapt and drive new processes and behaviors within the team, making them the norm in workflows and employee behaviors.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Oversee and maintain contracts
  • Proactively handle problem cases, including but not limited to missing samples, delays, incorrect orders received.
  • Manage inventory and organization of lab supplies/reagents
  • Perform non-technical laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Document administration (scanning and filing documents)
  • Maintain oversight of Clinical Laboratories reports
  • Address EPIC billing work queue issues
  • Address day to day concerns related to facilities
  • Support for laboratory projects and improvements which involves facilities
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support from the different departments of the organization.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science related fields (4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education).
  • Minimum of two (2) years related health care experience
