Job Description

Summary

Dr. Jason Lee in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a postdoctoral associate who will work on independent and collaborative projects, and who will contribute to the vibrant and team-oriented laboratory environment. Dr. Lee’s research focuses on understanding how and why contact sites form between membrane-bound organelles and mRNA-protein condensates in health and disease.

Job Duties

  • Sets lab standards by selecting, evaluating, conceptualizing and applying common and novel techniques used in biomedical research; such as cell culture, live-cell and immunofluorescence microscopy, molecular biology, RNA seq library preparation, etc.
  • Designs, optimizes and executes experiments to answer questions related to research projects, and to publish experimental results and interpretations.
  • Communicates their findings with other scientists at scientific meetings.
  • ConductsLive-cell Microscopy, Immunofluorescence, Cell fractionation, Programming skills, RNA seq, Immunoprecipitation, Immunoblots, Cloning, CRISPRCell culture, pipetting, Scientific writing and communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
