Job Description
Summary
The lab is looking for Laboratory Technician, who can help in the lab to maintain the Drosophila stocks and assist the lab manager in other lab related duties as needed. This is a part-time position with 10 hours/week.
Job Duties
- Transfers the Drosophila stocks from old vials to new vials on a regular basis.
- Obtainsthe vials containing the fresh food from another lab at Baylor / NRI from which they obtain the food.
- Inspectsthe stocks during the transfer process and notifiesthe lab manager if any of the stocks looks sick and needs attention.
- Assists the lab manager in making buffers and culture media and other related activities as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a biology-related lab is a plus.
