Job Description
The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) in the Gallogly College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of carbon capture and carbon management. This position is part of a larger initiative defined in the Gallogly College of Engineering strategic plan for growing enrollment and improving retention. The State of Oklahoma is investing in engineering in support of growing the number of engineering graduates for the state workforce.
Candidates with expertise in the areas are of interest for the position include but are not limited to:
1) Advanced carbon capture technologies
2) Advancing technologies for CO2 utilization in value-added products
3) Cost-effective CO2 storage solutions to ensure long-term safety and stability
4) Integration of emissions reduction with sustainable energy transition
Successful candidates are expected to develop a nationally recognized research program in one or more areas and have a demonstrated commitment to excellent and innovative instruction, an ethos of care and support of students, and effective mentorship and guidance of students.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in aerospace or mechanical engineering or in a related field.
