Scientist--Discovery Oncology, non PhD
Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
You will translate basic discoveries in cancer biology into novel therapeutics. You will utilize cutting-edge chemical and biological tools to support our pre-clinical drug discovery programs. You will design and execute key experiments to address the basic and translational biology of novel drug targets, their molecular pathways, and their connection to human cancers. You will act as a technical and scientific expert in the lab, working independently and collaboratively with team members to design, execute, analyze, interpret, and refine experiments. Experiments will cover areas includein vitropharmacology, biomarker assay development, cell function assays, functional genomics, and mechanism of action studies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This includes cell culture, western blot, qPCR, ELISA, MSD, immunoprecipitation, gene expression analysis, functional genomics, luminescence-based assays, imaging platforms, and flow cytometry
Conduct experiments to test the functional consequences of genetic (CRISPR-based gene editing technologies and RNA interference) and chemical perturbations in cancer cell models, advancing mechanism of action studies
Develop cellular tools to advance drug discovery projects and lead compound selection
Design and conduct well controlled high-quality scientific experiments to test biological hypotheses
Assist with the evaluation of new approaches and technologies within the group
Stay current with relevant technologies including those relating to molecular biology, cell biology, functional genomics and biochemistry; take a proactive role in personal growth and scientific development
Collaborate closely with team members within Tumor Biology and Oncology Project Teams, and present research results to team members
Maintain electronic lab notebook in compliance with company policies
Comply with all safety training and good laboratory practices
