The Senior Manager, Software Engineer will be on a team responsible for executing the technical strategies, architecture, system designs, solutions development, and support as it relates to the Pfizer’s Manufacturing Production System and some of the major Pfizer’s production initiatives.
The colleague will be accountable for executing application engineering, development and support activities within the team. The role requires ability to understand and implement the product owners’ vision, requirements and user stories while considering the appropriate user experience as well as application engineering best practices. This position requires a blend of expertise across Enterprise Strategy, Design, Build, Testing, Operation, Governance, Software Architecture, Change & Release Management, Cloud Technologies, Cross Functional Partnership Support, and Leadership – along with in-depth latest cutting-edge technologies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manager, Software Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work in a collaborative team comprising of Microservices Engineering, Data Engineering and Solution Engineering
- Design, engineer, develop comprehensive apps and solutions using Kubernetes, containers, microservices, open source, CI/CD and other aspects of modern cloud architecture and DevOps techniques.
- Create and execute the technical and architecture strategies and roadmaps across Operations & Insights systems as defined by Engineering Leadership
- Lead cross team engineering initiatives.
- Ensure quality software is delivered on time within a fast-paced agile environment.
- Support day-to-day transformation needs and issue investigation and resolution.
- Implement process improvements, enforcement of adherence to standards across the organization and compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across PGS, Digital and Strategic Partner and align digital products to their needs.
- Enforce coding standards and best practices across the development team. Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation to educate the team on coding standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies. Analyze and evaluate new technologies to determine their potential application and benefit to current projects and processes.
- Support planning activities for the upcoming Product Increments
- Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers fostering their professional growth.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Working experience in engineering and technical delivery of the cloud-based solutions created in modern programming languages/frameworks: C#, .NET, ASP.NET Typescript/JavaScript, Angular, React
- Working experience with relational database management system such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Data processing and ETL
- Expertise in utilizing DevOps tools such as Docker & GitHub Actions
- Experience with production deployments of complex systems
- Experience with an industry accepted structured software development life cycle methodology.
- Ability to contribute to technical specifications, technical design documentation, process documentation and technical SOPs for the software development team.
- Experience working in teams to address software defect analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles. Hands-on experience with Scrum methodology.
- Excellent communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Pharmaceutical Experience
- Working experience with AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, RDS
- Working experience with Java and Spring Framework
- Working experience with NoSQL database systems such as MongoDB or Redis
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python
- Working experience with D3.js
