Job Description

  • Primary Location: OU-Oklahoma City, OK

Primary Responsiblites:

The individual filling this position will serve as an academic faculty member in the Speech- Language Pathology program within the Department of CSD. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Research/Scholarship:  

  • Organize and maintain a research/scholarship agenda. 
  • Maintain a consistent record of publications and presentations through engaging in local, national and/or international opportunities
  • Developing a line of externally-funded research. 
  • Mentor graduate students in research activities.

Teaching

  • Active classroom and community teaching. 
  • Participate in the CSD curriculum design, delivery, and accreditation process.  
  • Advise and mentor students.    
  • Support and promote a collaborative and positive learning environment for students.  
  • Deliver instruction using innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies.

Service: 

  • Contribute to University, College, Department, and Program committees. 
  • Membership and leadership in professional associations. 
  • Contribute to the advancement of the profession of speech-language pathology through program development, continuing education, clinical service, or clinical education activities.  

Required Qualifications: include an earned PhD degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field, evidence of successful university teaching, potential for a productive research program, and excellent interpersonal, outreach, and communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:   Preferred research areas of interest include fluency, craniofacial anomalies, and disorders, pediatric swallow & feeding, and speech sound disorders, but other areas of expertise will be considered. Candidates with evidence of the ability to secure external grant funding, mentor graduate student research, and engage in collaborative research at a large, comprehensive health center are strongly encouraged to apply.
