What You Will Achieve

In your role, you will be accountable for the design, development, and testing a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products. You will help to determine packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required to external variables, such as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering.

As a Senior Associate, your knowledge and skills will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the team. Your focus and ability to meet team targets will help in completing important deliverables on time. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will make it easy to manage difficult issues and help in establishing consensus between teams.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Contribute to the completion of moderately complex projects.

  • Manage own time to meet agreed targetsanddevelop plans for short-term work activities on own projects (timelines, work plans, deliverables) withinthe team.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to ensure packaging systems comply with all relevant governmental regulations and meet internal and external customer and quality needs.

  • Partner with outside vendors and internal cross functional teams to develop and engineer packages to ensure functionality, compliance, cost, and timing objectives are met.

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute appropriate package qualification/compliance testing as required.

  • Develop, author, and approve packaging specifications, pallet patterns, and bills of materials for package container/closure systems, secondary, and tertiary packaging.

  • Lead and support technical improvement projects aimed at defect reduction, improved equipment reliability, and better equipment utilization, and use Six Sigma (and other tools) to investigate common cause of process variation.

  • Identify and implement cost savings ideas, specifically efficiency improvements and other projects that increase equipment capacity.

  • Communicate and participate in packaging material investigations, deviations, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and vendor capability assessments.

  • Prepare protocols for development / engineering batches related to secondary packaging activities and packaging operation validation.

  • Provide technical support to production-packing team for smooth launching of products.

  • Support the Packaging development laboratory, procure testing equipment and work on maintenance of equipment.

  • Ensure all the safety precautions are implemented on the premises.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience.

  • Familiarity with Design Controls for Medical Device and/or Combination Products.

  • Strong MS Office Skills, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Experience with package labeling requirements with specific regard to serialization, trade dress alignment, Batch variable imprinting methods and their impact on operations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.

  • Understanding of continuous improvement and Statistical Process Control methodology for problem solving (e.g.Method 1 - DMAIC, Six Sigmaetc.).

  • Familiarity with a variety of package performance testing equipment and methods, and withregional pharmaceutical compendia testing requirements.

  • Note: Hiring Manger to update the methods and tools based onthe requirement.
