Position Summary:

City of Hope is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our team in the infusion clinic, specializing in cancer treatment. In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge cancer therapies to our patients, providing comfort, support, and hope during their cancer journey. The schedule for this opportunity is per diem, 12-hour shifts, and 9:00am start time. The per diem flat rate for this position is $72.605/hr. There is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required for per diem positions.

$2,000 sign-on bonus available!

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments with precision, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor patients closely during infusions and procedural chemo administrations, assessing for adverse reactions and providing immediate care as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, pharmacists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment administration.
  • Offer emotional support and a compassionate presence to patients, fostering trust and confidence.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
  • Current California RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient setting, preferred background in oncology nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
  • ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card
  • Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and a deep understanding of cancer treatment principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
