As a successful candidate, you will:

Senior Technology Support Technician participates in the inspection, set-up, installation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair of personal computer hardware, and related peripherals, including software installation. Acts as the project lead for PC software and hardware projects with emphasis in computer problem solving and coordination with Technology Technicians.

  • Lead PC projects, including, but not limited to, large scale software/hardware upgrades/migrations. Assist Technology Technicians with user calls as needed.
  • Provide second-line support in the event of PC software/hardware problems.
  • Assist and guide personal computer users in defining hardware and software requirements.
  • Provide consultation and training as needed in the areas of personal computer based programming languages, operating systems, software packages and equipment selection and installation.
  • Provide formal installation instructions in software applications including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applications as required.
  • Provide equipment interface support including PDA’s, JetDirect cards, printers, network cards, etc.
  • Promote the standards and procedures of PC hardware and software usage, including back-up and recovery.
  • Assists in coordinating referrals to appropriate technical, professional or service personnel for appropriate services, repairs, training, follow-up, ordering/renting special materials and supplies as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate records, inventory, files, and calendar.
  • Maintains professional growth and development and keeps abreast of latest trends in area of expertise.
  • Deliver computer and/or telephones and/or audiovisual equipment to appropriate personnel and install the equipment onsite.
  • Assists in the maintenance, repair, termination and tests of all medical center telecommunications or audiovisual equipment, including fiber optic cabling, wiring, patient and staff telephones, pay phones, LCD, video, audio, and peripheral equipment.
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your qualifications should include:

High School or equivalent.

Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements

Three to five years experience in PC hardware/software support/deployment including peripherals in a high volume setting. Project management skills for large-scale deployments. General troubleshooting and experience with Local Area Networks required.

A+ Certification, or equivalent certification relevant to PC support, with one year minimum experience.

Current California Drivers License and a good driving record for insurance purposes.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.64 - $53.70 / hour
