Job Description
Summary
The laboratory works on the identification of new drug targets for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. The lab is seeking a research technician to work with cell lines and samples from patients and with rodent models to identify components of a potassium channel involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.
Job Duties
- Maintains in vitro cultures of cell lines and of cells from patients.
- Maintains our rodent colony, including breeding and weaning.
- Performs immunostaining of tissue sections.
- Assists with laboratory inventory, ordering supplies, and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in wet lab techniques that includes liquid handling, is desired.
- Training in mammalian tissue culture or handling rodents is a plus.
