Job Description:

**This is a PRN position. Hours are as needed 8a-4:30p Mon-Fri.**

Job Overview

To demonstrate support of the hospital mission and vision by providing nursing, case management/disease management services to clients and families to help in the coordination and management of individuals’ health needs through the full continuum, as needed. The Centers Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to assess, coordinate, plan, monitor, implement and evaluate the patient’s plan of care while ensuring and facilitating the achievement of optimal quality, clinical and financial outcomes. Performs assessment of clinical and life issues for the patients of City of Hope. Provides professional nursing services in support of the physician, in the direct and indirect care of patients.

Job Responsibilities

40%|

Implementation of care for patients receiving therapeutic phlebotomy. Ability to collect blood specimens and blood cultures. Ability to care for patients with IV lines, central lines and ports.

Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (HER) appropriately ensuring all documentation is entered accurately and in a timely manner.

Works as a part of the team as a resource to facilitate communication and services between physicians, patients, families and other healthcare team members. Provides patient education, utilizing appropriate resources to meet the needs of the patient and documents education in SCM.

Performs tasks as outlined in facility policies and procedures, as required by regulating agencies and according to best nursing practices, including but not limited to central line care, patient education, procedure assist and medication administration.

Administers medications via injection, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner and monitoring patient for side effects.

Job Qualifications

  • Current Georgia RN license from an accredited college

  • BSN required or enrolled in a BSN program within 6 months of hire and completed within 3 years of date of hire

  • 1 year clinical oncology experience preferred

  • BLS ( (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire) ) certification required

  • ACLS ( (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire) ) preferred

  • OCN Certification preferred

  • Bio/Chemo Certification preferred

Pay Range

$31.90 - $52.55

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility. These factors are considered without regard to an individual’s status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour
