X-Ray Tech I

The successful candidate:

  • Operate all routine radiographic equipment in a safe and proficient manner.

  • Produce high quality radiographs with a minimum of repeats.

  • Handle multiple room assignments and different types of exams on a daily basis.

  • Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel. Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

  • Assists with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department (i.e. clerical duties, inventory, stocking, light housekeeping duties, etc.).

  • May participate in the training and orientation of other employees. Position may require cross training in additional modalities as directed by the Director of Imaging.

  • Recommends repairs and work process efficiencies within the area and/or the department.

  • Shares responsibility for maintaining efficient scheduling, patient flow and quality assurance, as well as having alertness for fiscal soundness within the division.

  • This is a PRN position where shifts will fall Monday - Friday, 7am - 7pm with rotating weekend call.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography, ARRT (R),

  • Completion of a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education bi-annually while remaining “in compliance” with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology’s continuing medical education requirement (CME).

Minimum Experience

  • 2 years of hospital experience preferred

  • Ability to perform EKG’s is required;

  • Experience with PFT’s and/or bedside spirometry strongly preferred, but not required

Required Certification/Licensure

  • BLS required

  • Active X-Ray certification administered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (ARRT)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $24.09 - $39.71 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
