Job Description

Summary

The lab is seeking a talented Research Technician to work with the team on a project assess the breast cancer metabolism and metastasis.  The technician must have excellent computer, written and oral communication skills and have knowledge in cancer signaling and cancer metabolism. The technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following: literature research, document experimental results, deliver lab meeting presentations and conduct cell culture studies under the direction of the supervisor.  The technician must be proactive, team player and take initiative in all work related tasks.

Job Duties

  • Performs cell and molecular biology experiments related to cancer research under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Conducts cell culture experiments under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Prepares solutions and reagents for project execution.
  • Collects data in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results. Keeps an organized research notebook and confirms results. 
  • Presents data in weekly lab meetings and during individual meeting with the PI and postdocs.
  • Helps with ordering process in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cell biology, cancer biology, animal experiments or metabolomics experiments is a plus.
