Title: Research Coordinator I 

Division: Obstetrics & Gynecology (80001012)  

Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology (90002102) 

Location: Houston (1100) 

Salary Range: $31,581 - $42,714 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 

Employment Duration: Full-time 

FLSA Status: Nonexempt 

Summary

This position is located within the field of Clinical Research in the OB/GYN department. Our department covers the OB/GYN services at two hospitals (TCH PFW and BTGH). We are conducting dozens of high-quality clinical research studies on both sites with millions of dollars in internal and external funding. We are working diligently to help promote women's health on multiple levels. This position coordinates day-to-day research protocol activities, including screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. It also ensures accurate data/specimen collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants.

Job Duties

  • Screens, recruits, and interviews patients for the study; explains process and procedures to educate participants regarding the research study.
  • Collects patient information from interviews and EPIC; processes documents and enters information into a computerized database.
  • Collect, process, and transport the blood/biological specimens according to procedures outlined in the study protocol; maintain paperwork for specimens.
  • May correspond with patients throughout the study.
  • Keeps all required training and certificates up-to-date.
  • After-hour and weekend on-call may be needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • EPIC and database experience.
  • Medical background and terminology.
