Job ID: 258237Position: 20000270 Augusta University invites applications for a 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Bachelor's of Science Respiratory Therapy Program housed in the Department of Undergraduate Health Professions, College of Allied Health Sciences. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the administration and management of clinical rotations (Director of Clinical Education), as well as development and delivery of lecture and laboratory courses, teaching in the classroom, online, laboratory, and clinical rotations. The candidate should expect to primarily focus on clinical activities, with a minimal teaching load.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include service and assisting with recruitment activities, admissions and advertisement processes for the program; assisting the Program Director with program related assessment and administrative tasks, and providing service (public, professional, and institutional) and research/scholarly activity in accordance with effort allocation.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree; the RRT credential; eligibility for a Georgia RCP license and proven experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with current clinical experience in the ICU. Experience in classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction are expected. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

    Shift/Salary/Benefits
    This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
