Job Description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant.   The ideal candidate will provide clinical and clerical support to physician and NP, with triaging, rooming, collect of medical records, refill medications, patient's history, medication reconciliation delivering patient care, performs patient care responsibilities in a clinical setting. 

Job Duties

  • Takes vital signs, patient's history, obtains patient medical record, lab/images, and hospital notes. 
  • Schedules  patient tests, procedures and appointments.
  • Instructs patients on general care and medical procedures. 
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration Required: Current certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited professional organization (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, or AMCA). New employees who are not currently certified, must obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of Cardiology experience.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR.
