Job Description

We seek applications from exceptional individuals with strong quantitative analytic skills in biostatistics. 

Position Highlights:

  • Manage and curate multiple datasets for ongoing melanoma research studies.
  • Analysis of environmental and genetic risk factors for disease derived from a large family-based study.
  • Analysis of the impact of an intervention to change prevention behaviors.
  • Assist with the preparation of manuscripts and grants (statistical methods sections).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with large-scale structured data.
  • Strong statistical programming skills with proficiency in R and SAS.
  • Adeptness in database management, documentation, and reproducible research.
  • Track record of independent thinking and innovative approaches to problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare, medical, and oncology terminology.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Principal Investigator to manage ongoing research data.
  • Works closely with the Biostatistics faculty and staff to conduct data analyses and prepare manuscripts for publication.
  • Works with external collaborators to track and manage data.
  • Works closely with Research Coordinator and application developers to perform quality control on data.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in biostatistics, or in a related field with no experience OR Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Two years of hands-on experience with statistical packages such as SAS, R, or other relevant software packages is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required.
