POSITION TITLE:                        RN Office & Care Coordinator - EOO

 

STATUS:                                      Full Time (RF Status – 80 Hours/Pay Period)

 

DAY/SHIFT/HOURS:                    Monday – Friday 8am-5pm                                                                         

 

Job Profile Summary:

  • This position is responsible for the oversight of office operations and the direct coordination of the office’s joint program. The RN will utilize medical and administrative skills to provide support to patients and health care staff under the supervision of the physician or nurse manager. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day operations, team scheduling, PTO approval, and daily maintenance of the time keeping system.
  • Responsible for oversight of staff performance and policy procedure compliance, including the administration of discipline up to verbal warnings. Handle disciplinary actions above verbal warnings in partnership with the Clinical Operations Manager. Provide feedback to manager on difficult or sensitive issues and operational enhancements or ideas.
  • Provide monthly operational reports to Clinical Operations Manager.
  • Interview new staff alongside Operations Manager and trains all new employees.
  • Phone triage, pre-visit planning, patient screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care.
  • Update health maintenance records at patient visit, accurately identify medication changes and update allergy information at each visit.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under direction of provider.
  • Maintain equipment, examination areas, and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee and instruct joint education program and assist in preparation of department specific education for patients and colleagues.
  • As needed, this role will support clinical/clerical staff during high volume periods and call off situations.
  • Responsible for staff education and implementation of practice policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for Time Management Delay Communication efforts with patients and family members.
  • Demonstrate effective, efficient use of the Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record systems in the office.
  • Acts as the first line of conflict resolution for scenarios involving providers, staff and/or patients/care givers.
  • Provide Patient Education and demonstrates ability to answer questions or contact provider concerning patient inquiries about ongoing care/treatment.
  • Collaborates with and works closely with appropriate CCUH Organizational staff to ensure efficient integration of operations between office and hospital clinical operations.
  • Works in conjunction with Health Navigator (when appropriate) on managing and updating the office communication boards, monitoring office quality, and performance metrics.
  • Participates in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.

 

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

Certifications:

  • Current State Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Demonstrate positive, courteous, interpersonal relations and acts as a role model of customer service and professional tone in all communication.

Work Experience:

  • Orthopedic experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Ability to lift moderate weights.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
