Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job DescriptionA postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Neuroscience, Scripps Research Institute on Jupiter, FL campus to study neuromodulation and mechanisms involved in establishing synaptic connectivity. The work will be focused on unraveling function of newly identified molecules and signaling pathways that shape sensory perception, movement coordination and contribute to neuropsychiatric disease. The laboratory is using multidisciplinary approach integrating behavioral characterization of genetic mouse models with live cell imaging, patch clamp electrophysiology, the use of optical sensors to investigate cellular signaling reactions and discovery of novel interactions by mass-spectrometry. Please visit laboratory website at http://www.scripps.edu/martemyanov for the description of current research directions.
We are looking for a highly-motivated and self-driven individual who wishes to work creatively in an independent setting. Successful candidates will have recently received a Ph.D. degree and have extensive research experience as evidenced by a strong publication record. In addition to basic research, postdoctoral scientist will have an opportunity to engage in translational drug discovery efforts of the laboratory collaborating with the molecular screening center at Scripps to develop novel compounds for the treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions. We are particularly interested in candidates with background in electrophysiology, behavior and microscopy.
To apply, please send CV, brief description of research interests and contact information of references to Dr. Kirill Martemyanov at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Scripps Research Institute provides an outstanding intellectual environment and access to a wide range of cutting edge technologies and the PI is committed to the career development of trainees.
